Mission 24 Quick Route

The first useful action is to protect the landing approach. Select an attacker moving toward the friendly force, deal with it, then check the next approach. A fighter circling away from the landings is a lower priority than an aircraft already attacking the troops.

Once the forces are ashore, connect your attacks to their route toward the Turntable. Clear a threat in front of the advance, then return to check the other groups. This support circuit is more useful than systematically clearing one distant corner while another team is under fire.

Mission Objectives in the Correct Order

Operation Coastal Hammer begins as landing support and ends with a changed defense task. The strike between those stages is a scripted event. Judge progress by the active objectives after that event.

Aircraft and Special Weapons for Mission 24

Choose a multirole setup that can clear ground defenses without leaving you helpless against attacking aircraft. Ground-focused special weapons are useful when several defenses are grouped together; keep an air-to-air answer available for contacts threatening the landing forces.

Build around the part of the sortie you struggle to complete. If your ground passes are already effective but enemy attackers reach the friendlies, more surface damage is unlikely to fix the problem. Try a weapon or handling setup that lets you switch quickly to aircraft. If the reverse is true, improve the efficiency of your ground passes instead.

You do not need a named premium aircraft to follow this route. Use the equipment available in your campaign and inspect the target compatibility of each special weapon before committing to a setup.

Stage-by-Stage Walkthrough

During the sea approach, keep the landing craft on your radar while engaging attackers. Return toward the friendly route after each interception. A chase that carries you beyond useful supporting distance can leave the next incoming aircraft unopposed.

Over land, attack pillboxes and vehicles blocking the advance. The important question is which enemy can stop the troops now. Do not spend multiple passes finishing a harmless distant target while a new attack develops near another friendly group.

As the forces approach the Turntable, the Tonitrus Spear sequence changes the situation. Continue flying and respond to the new orders. After the strike, switch promptly to Charlie’s remaining defense task and clear the targets marked for the final objective. Do not keep searching the previous battlefield for a way to restore the earlier phase.

High-Risk Targets and Fail Conditions

Landing support includes threats from both the ground and the air. Use the map to see the relationship between an attacker and the friendly force rather than choosing by distance to your aircraft alone. An enemy that is farther from you can still be the more urgent interception.

The main scripted strike cannot be solved by treating every guidance contact as an ordinary optional target. The loss of Alpha and Bravo is followed by a playable mission update. Continue with Charlie instead of restarting solely because those two groups disappear.

For the final objective, check the remaining TGT labels. A radar full of optional aircraft does not necessarily mean each one must be eliminated before the mission can end. Complete the updated required targets while keeping the surviving force covered.

Common Problems and How to Recover

If friendly units come under attack immediately after you leave, shorten the support circuit. Attack the nearest immediate threat, turn back toward the advance, and postpone distant cleanup. This reduces the time between useful defensive passes.

If selecting a ground target keeps pulling your aim away from an incoming aircraft, reset the target selection before firing. Check the label after a mission update as well. A valid lock on the previous phase’s priority can still be the wrong action for the current phase.

If you survive the Spear strike but cannot finish, search for the newly marked ground and air TGTs around Charlie’s operation. Work through those labels rather than repeating the entire landing-area cleanup. On a retry, preserve the successful opening and change only the section where the objective stopped progressing.

Day 1 Replay and Adjacent Missions

A replay can focus on protecting the landing craft more consistently before adding optional aircraft pursuits. Sabulum’s collection condition concerns getting all allied LCACs ashore without a loss on a qualifying Veteran-or-higher replay. Keep this separate from the later scripted losses of Alpha and Bravo.

After Day 1, Mission 25 continues the Rocky Island battle. Mission 26 follows later with its own objective changes. Use those individual guides for the next sorties rather than carrying this landing-support route unchanged into them.

Common questions

Mission 24 FAQ

What is Mission 24’s official mission name?

The Battle of Rocky Island, Day 1. The operation begins with support for the allied landing and advance toward the Turntable.

Who should I support first during the landing?

Prioritize the friendly group facing an immediate attack. Intercept an incoming attacker or remove a blocking defense before chasing unrelated aircraft.

Did I fail by losing Alpha and Bravo to the Spear?

Those losses occur during the scripted strike. Follow the update and protect Charlie to continue the mission.

How do I finish the phase after the strike?

Destroy the new TGT ground forces and attack aircraft while supporting Charlie. Check the updated target markers rather than the old landing objective.

How is Sabulum’s condition different from the scripted losses?

The optional replay condition is to keep the allied LCACs alive until landing on Veteran or higher after the required prior clear. It concerns the landing craft, not preventing the later scripted strike.
